Name it! Four outfits I've enjoyed wearing recently...
...and the thought process behind each of them
Outfit 1 - Sunday the 12th of January 2025
Occasion: Traveling from Oslo to London
What I wanted to achieve: No matter where I’m going and the number of days I’m gone for, I try to only travel with a carry on. The reason is two-fold; I hate waiting for my luggage upon arrival, and I sometimes find I’m more creative when limitations are in place. But as a result I have to wear what takes up the most space, which is often how I choose the outfits I travel in.
What I chose to wear…: Grey flannel trousers, with my noName Ballerina Cardigan in charcoal (which we are bringing back for spring but with short sleeves, you heard it here first) and a white t-shirt. The Row Scuba boots, Balenciaga fur coat (read all about it here) and my white Khaite Osa Tote.
…and why: As mentioned, my limited amount of luggage often dictates what I travel in and this time was no exception. The Balenciaga coat I wore for the quite obvious reason that it would take up my whole hand luggage if I packed it instead. I’m also always cold on planes and wrapping myself up in this coat was like being wrapped in a heated sleeping bag (resulting in me sleeping the whole journey from take-off to landing).
noName ballerina sweater (not yet online but available to order), Julie Josephine boxy t-shirt, Maje grey flannel trousers (link to several versions here), Khaite Osa tote in white (sourced by SourceWhere)
I also prefer to look a bit put together when travelling, while still feeling comfortable of course. A pair of wool trousers like the ones I’m wearing therefore do the trick. They are loose and comfortable, but also makes it look like I made an effort.
I have been very into my Ballerina Cardigan in charcoal lately. It is a style we introduced a couple of seasons ago, but it has been lying in my closet untouched for the past year, with no specific explanation. I love how feminine the style is, and the perfect balance to the masculine trousers and boots. I have recently started layering the cardigan over loose t-shirts which creates a less polished look (even though I like to look like I made an effort, I prefer not to look too polished, there’s a difference).
Lastly my Khaite Osa tote is the perfect travel companion due to space. I also really love how it brings in the white t-shirt under the cardigan. I think I may have to write a Substack on white accessories…
Balenciaga faux mink coat (all about it here), noName Petite Fringe Scarf (only a few left), The Row Scuba boots bought on sale at Vincci, Rimowa suitcase

Outfit 2 - Saturday the 1st of February 2025
Occasion: Date night with my boyfriend in London
What I wanted to achieve: My boyfriend had plans to go out for a semi-spontaneous dinner (“semi” because it was planned a couple of days in advance, but for most London restaurants that’s spontaneous). We didn’t have a reservation but wanted to try to get a table at either Mountain or Sabor (our favourite Spanish restaurant in London). Both restaurants are fairly casual, but I knew I wanted to wear heels as we were grabbing drinks somewhere afterwards. Ie. I wanted to look pulled together, but cool and not too dressed up.
What I chose to wear…: Zara wide-legged jeans, a Bottega Veneta knitted vest and Miu Miu red heels (both purchased secondhand through Resee), and a red Alexander McQueen clutch (bought by my mother the day Alexander McQueen died..)
…and why: One of the reasons I love living in London is that I get to wear heels when going out for dinner - almost no matter what restaurant. I hadn’t worn my red Miu Miu heels in a while so I pulled them out of their box and started from there. If going somewhere more casual (as we were this evening) I’ll wear jeans with my heels, and a pair from Zara are almost always my top pick. They are straight, long, and a fairly dark wash (I preferred them when they were even darker once upon a time though…).
Bottega Veneta FW21 Turtleneck Vest bought secondhand on Resee (I love our noName Lisa Vest), Miu Miu SS13 cracked red pumps bought secondhand on Resee, old Zara jeans, Tiffany by Elsa Peretti bone cuff, Bottega Veneta earrings, Alexander McQueen clutch (Resee of course has it in black)
Given the temperature outside (cold) I threw on a Bottega Veneta wool vest with a high neck. I love this, but was actually afraid my boyfriend wouldn’t find it that flattering so I showed him another option, my Saks Potts tweed jacket too. Not that surprisingly he liked the vest (he loves a turtleneck which is why I love him) so the Saks Potts jacket got a night off.
Saks Potts Christie tweed jacket, Miu Miu SS13 cracked red pumps bought secondhand on Resee, old Zara jeans, Tiffany by Elsa Peretti bone cuff, Bottega Veneta earrings, Alexander McQueen clutch (Resee of course has it in black)
As for accessories I wanted to wear my (read: borrowed) Alexander Mcqueen clutch for another pop of colour, and I love how dressy the bag is in contrast with the jeans and knitted top. The Elsa Peretti bone cuff and Bottega earrings are bold and added a modern touch to the look while bringing in the silver details from the clutch.

Outfit 3 - Saturday the 1st of February
Occasion: Coffee and catching up with girlfriends
What I wanted to achieve: I wanted to prove (to myself) that there were ways to wear the knitted Cos dress mentioned in last week’s Substack without regretting that I sold the coat that went perfectly with it
What I chose to wear…: Cos knitted dress, old Valentino boots (again borrowed from my mother), old Toteme flannel shirt and Balenciaga faux mink coat
