Name it! Silk scarves tied a gazillion ways

Back in 2018 I went on holiday without a handbag. A crisis was averted when I realized I could tie my Hermès scarf as one, and the whole idea funnily enough got its own article in the style section of a Norwegian newspaper.

Bags aren’t the only thing my scarves have been transformed into over the years, so I thought I would share the numerous ways I have worn and plan to wear them through summer.

I am lucky to have a mother who loves a silk scarf too, so I raided her collection and these are all the ways I tried to tie them!

One scarf, one bag

Starting off with a bag of course! I’m using a 90x90 scarf by Hermès but any size would do really.

How: Make a knot in all corners of the scarf, tie two-and-two corners together to create the handles.

One scarf, one top

The scarf used for this one is 140x140 which is what creates the volume!

How: I first create quite a big knot with two of the corners up top. Then I create an even larger knot with the excess silk using the two bottom corners. I like when the bottom knot is off center sitting right above the hip.

Two scarves, one top

Two scarves tied together to make one top. The scarves I’m wearing are both pink but I like the idea of doing the same with two completely different colours and motifs.
